The Tao of Ninja
Tao or Dao is a character often translated as ‘The way of nature'. Tao is simply the way and order of the Universe, what some call "the path." In Ninja's case, her path is about love.

The Dog Who Loved Too Much
(And Now Loves Even More)
The Rejected Retriever
Dear Ninja:
I've been in the pound for so long, Ninja. The puppies seem to get new homes right away, but I'm older and no one seems to want me. I am so sad, Ninja. And I have so much to give. I loved my last owners SO much, but they decided to move and just left me. What's wrong with me?
Rejected
Dear Rejected:
There's nothing - NO THING - wrong with you, Rejected. And I have Good News! I sent your note
to a friend and you are going to love her! She's on the way to get you -- and you will have a wonderful new life! Let me know how it goes, ok?
Ninja
UPDATE!
Dear Ninja!
You won't believe it! I have a wonderful new home and guess what? I have a job! We go to hospitals and places where they put humans like they had me -- all too close together and they can't get out. So we go visit them, and with my mind I tell them it's all going to be ok -- and they hear me, Ninja! They hear me!
Oh, Ninja. I had no idea there could be hope for me. Now you must tell everyone you know that there are LOTS of dogs like me who could be helping humans that need it. Will you do it, Ninja? Please?
No Longer Rejected!

A Trap or Freedom?
Dear Ninja,
My name is Tucker. I have a serious dilemma. You see, this nice woman named Bette kept feeding me outside and then one day, "whoosh," she trapped me in this deplorable little container.
Well, the good news is, she wanted to give me a new home, which I have now. I have several brothers and sisters, the food is great, we have a house on the water, and I LOVE her. But, she's got this cat door (that looks like my first trap), and I just can't bring myself to go through it. My brothers and sisters do so with ease, and I envy their freedom and ability to go outside with no worries. I'm in a quandary. What do I do?
Tucker in Turmoil
Dear Turmoil:
Tucker, this is a very profound metaphysical principle. Do you not see that the "trap" which originally captured you set you FREE? You were trapped by love, Tucker. And now you are surrounded by a new environment, lots of joy, new friends, and safety.
Tucker, that cat door, just as your original "trap", is a doorway to freedom. My advice is to examine this wonderful spiritual lesson and then free yourself. Remember, WE are the ones holding the keys to our freedom or our prisons.
Bless you Tucker. And bless your guardian angel, Bette
Ninja
UPDATE!
Dear Ninja:
You were so right! I decided to "see" through different eyes and yesterday I put a paw through the door. Nothing happened. So I peeked my head through, and it was SO beautiful out there! I put my other paw through it, and the sun shined in my eyes so much I couldn't see for a minute, but it warmed my fur and it felt wonderful! I decided to just go for it, and I leaped out really really fast, and you know what?
Nothing bad happened!!!! I went back inside right away and just watched the door, and then I tried it again - and guess what?
YOU WERE RIGHT! I AM FREE!!! That's not a trap, it's a GREAT opening for me! I can play with all the other cats now, and they don't laugh at me any more for being timid. I go out when I want and I am FREE FREE FREE!
Thank you Ninja! You changed my life!
You're welcome, Tucker.
| Note from Ninja: Tucker was a feral cat, infested with fleas, one of his eyes were overgrown from an infection, and he was living on a pier in Florida with hundreds of other feral cats when he was rescued. After a visit to the vet, lots of shots, a good bath, and some medications, Tucker is now living a happy and long life in a beautiful waterfront home with his sisters and brothers -- all of whom were also rescued. He no longer has nightmares, and flies through the kitty door like a bird! |
